Most of the people who write a review for Waterfront Park use the same word: relaxing. This easy-to-access little piece of paradise adjacent to Old Town is the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll, picnic lunch, or to simply enjoy some fresh air at the start of the season.
There are plenty of places to sit, and on a clear day, you can see across the river all the way to the US Capitol Building or National Harbor. Waterfront Park also features boat docking, open lawn spaces, and walking trails. Bring the kids to play on the grass,
or your four-legged friend for some exercise. The shops and restaurants of Old Town are just steps away, so any time you are in the area, Waterfront Park should be where you begin or end your visit. The park is also well-known for its yearly art installations,
with past exhibits including “Mirror, Mirror” in 2019 and “Wrought, Knit, Labors, Legacies” last year.
Fingers crossed that 2021 will bring another exhibit by local artists, and yet another reason to visit Waterfront Park.
